Are you a conscientious, highly organised professional who can assist our Librarian in developing and maintaining the School Library using a professional and operational service? We have a part-time role (16 hours per week) available; hours of work are 1400–1730 (Monday–Thursday) and 1400-1600 (Friday) . Our library provides students with resources for researching school subjects or for general reading and is open to all students and staff within the senior and junior schools at Leidschenveen.
In this role, you will assist and supervise students and staff in selecting resources, obtaining information and using the library. You’ll supervise students after school whilst they await their co-curricular activities, music lessons and parent collections. You’ll perform story-telling to various classes and year groups. Responsibilities will also include: operating the automated library system; assisting with resource ordering, processing/cataloguing, stock management of issuing and returning of resources and maintaining resources including repair of stock and jacketing books.
You are able to promote the use of the library and increase the number of active learners, helping to create a reading culture within the school and its community, and challenging student perspectives. You are proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook. You’ll thrive within a busy library environment, enjoy multi-tasking and using your strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as being able to work under your own initiative.
